When the Treasure Is in a Cracked Pot

A lot of us assume God can only use the people who seem to have it all together, so we count ourselves out. This episode looks at 2 Corinthians 4:7 and the jars-of-clay truth that your brokenness may be exactly where God's light gets out. A lot of us keep a scoreboard running in the back of our minds. We measure ourselves against the people who seem to have it all together, the Christians who never seem to falter or struggle. Then there's you, with the anxiety you can't shake or the marriage tha

How to Love Someone Whose Choices You Don't Agree With

In the delicate dance of relationships, we often find ourselves at a crossroads when a loved one makes choices that deeply trouble us. Two common instincts pull us in opposing directions: the urge to remain silent and observe, or the impulse to confront and correct. This episode of Daily Devotions for Busy Lives explores a profound third way, illuminated by the wisdom of 1 Peter 4:8 – a path of love that grieves the choice while steadfastly cherishing the person, all without severing the connect

When You Notice You've Been Becoming Bitter

When You Notice You've Been Becoming Bitter Bitterness rarely announces itself with a grand declaration. Instead, it often creeps in slowly, a consequence of hurts you haven't fully processed. Over time, without consciously deciding to, you can become a more closed-off version of yourself, quicker to assume the worst in people and more prone to expecting disappointment. You might not even be able to pinpoint the exact moment this shift occurred. This episode delves into recognizing this subtle d

What to Do When You've Realized You Hurt Someone

What to Do When You've Realized You Hurt Someone There's a brief, critical window between the moment you realize you've hurt someone and the decision of what to do about it. In this vulnerable space, the natural inclination is almost always to explain, to justify, or to defend yourself, rather than to seek repair. This episode explores why Jesus prioritized reconciliation so highly, even above religious duties, and why addressing the hurt quickly costs you far less than delaying the process. We'

How to Keep Praying for Something That Seems Impossible

How to Keep Praying for Something That Seems Impossible Have you ever poured your heart out in prayer for something important, only to see years pass with no apparent change? It’s a common, deeply discouraging place to find yourself, leading to the nagging question: Are my prayers even reaching God? When Loneliness Has Become Your Normal

When Loneliness Has Become Your Normal We all experience moments of loneliness. Sometimes it's a temporary phase – perhaps after a move, a job change, or when children leave home. But for many, loneliness isn't just a passing feeling; it can become a persistent, deeply ingrained climate in which they live. This long-haul loneliness can manifest in various ways: friendships that never fully develop, a marriage that feels more like a partnership of convenience, or days filled with only superficial

Bart Leger

I’m a husband, father, pastor, and lifelong encourager with a passion for helping people grow in their faith, especially when life feels full and fast-paced. After forty years of ministry and walking with people through both joy and crisis, I’ve learned that the most powerful moments with God often come in the middle of our everyday routines.

Whether I’m teaching the Bible, offering support during difficult seasons, or simply sharing a word of encouragement, my heart is to remind you that God is faithful—even in the chaos. I don’t believe you have to be perfect to grow spiritually. You just need a willing heart and a little space to pause, listen, and trust that God is working in your story.
