You’re trying so hard. At work. At home. In your faith. But no matter how much you give, it doesn’t feel like enough. You’re falling short, and the voice in your head keeps asking, “What’s wrong with me?”
Welcome to Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. I’m Bart Leger, and today’s reminder is one we all need to hear—especially on the days when we feel like we’re failing: Jesus is more than enough when we’re not.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says this:
“Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’
So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” (NLT)
Your weakness isn’t a disqualification—it’s a setup for God’s strength.
We live in a culture that tells us we should always be more: more capable, more impressive, more put-together. And when we’re not, shame creeps in fast.
But Paul flips the script. He says our weakness is actually where God shows up best.
You don’t have to be the strong one. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to prove your worth by pushing harder.
You just have to lean into the grace that’s already been given to you.
Jesus doesn’t love you more when you’re strong—and He doesn’t leave you when you’re weak. His power works best in your weakness. That’s not failure. That’s the gospel.
So instead of hiding your weakness, bring it to Him. His grace is enough. Full stop.
Here’s your truth today: You don’t have to be enough. Jesus is.
Say this out loud: “I’m not enough—and that’s okay, because Jesus is.”
Let’s pray:
“Jesus, I’m tired of trying to be everything. Thank You that I don’t have to be. I bring You my weakness and receive Your strength. Your grace is enough for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Come back next time for more truth, more peace, and more of God’s Word right in the middle of your busy life.
