A Sunrise to Remember

Even a sunrise can preach a sermon. Today’s devotion is an invitation to slow down, look up, and let the sky remind you of the God who made it.
Even a sunrise can preach a sermon. Today’s devotion is an invitation to slow down, look up, and let the sky remind you of the God who made it.
Every sunrise is an invitation to notice God’s beauty and remember His glory.
When was the last time you paused to notice the sky?
In our rush to get moving each day, we often miss the reminders of God’s presence and beauty all around us.
Psalm 19:1 tells us the heavens proclaim God’s glory. By slowing down long enough to notice, we receive daily encouragement from His creation.
Scripture:
Psalm 19:1 (NLT) – “The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship.”
Key Takeaways:
- The sky is a daily sermon about God’s power, creativity, and faithfulness.
- We miss these reminders when our pace leaves no space for noticing.
- Intentional pauses—like watching a sunrise—help us remember who God is.
On Christmas Eve, 1968, the Apollo 8 astronauts read from Genesis while in lunar orbit, and Bill Anders captured the now-famous Earthrise photo—a reminder of God’s beauty from 240,000 miles away.
Step outside at sunrise this week and let the sky preach to you. Ask, “Lord, what do You want me to remember about You today?”
