Sometimes the miracle someone is praying for looks a lot like you. In this episode, discover how God uses ordinary people to meet needs and how you can step into His plan today.

What if God wants to use you to answer someone else’s prayer?

We often think of miracles as dramatic, but Scripture reminds us that God delights to work through ordinary people.

In today’s devotion, you’ll hear the story of George Müller’s orphanage in Bristol, England, where an empty pantry and a prayer turned into bread and milk delivered at the perfect time. God’s provision came through a baker and a milkman, two neighbors who became part of a miracle.

Main Scripture:

Galatians 6:2 – “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”

By the end of this episode, you’ll discover:

  • Why God often answers prayers through people willing to serve
  • How sharing each other’s burdens fulfills the law of Christ
  • A simple step you can take today to be part of God’s answer to someone’s need

Today’s Challenge:

Pray: “Lord, show me one way I can be the answer to someone’s prayer today.” Be alert for the opportunity—and step in when He opens the door.

'The pantry was empty.

00:00:00.673 --> 00:00:25.612
The breakfast bell rings at George Mueller's Bristol, England orphanage. But the pantry is empty. No bread, no milk, nothing. Mueller asks the house mother to take the 300 children into the dining room and have them sit at tables. He thanked God for the food, and waited. Within minutes, there's a knock at the door.

00:00:28.632 --> 00:01:07.010
Welcome to Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. I'm Bart Leger, and today I want us to think about this. What if God wants to use you to answer someone else's prayer? Sometimes we wait for miracles forgetting that God often works through people, ordinary men and women willing to be part of His plan. It says in Galatians chapter 6 verse 2,"Share each other's burdens, and in this way, obey the law of Christ." On the steps, stands a baker, who says he couldn't sleep and got up early to bake three batches of bread for the children.

00:01:10.941 --> 00:02:00.971
George smiled as the milkman would ask the milkman according to the milkman. George smiled as the milkman brought in ten large cans of milk, just enough for the 300 enough bread and milk for everyone. Both faithful and unsuspecting neighbors became other. George was known for living by faith, but notice how God answered that prayer. But notice how God answered that prayer through a baker and the milkman, two ordinary people just going about their day, unknowingly became part of a miracle. That's the point. You and I can be that person, too.

00:01:56.230 --> 00:02:36.320
God often uses His people to meet the needs of others. Paul tells us in Galatians to "share each other's burdens" because that's how we live out the love of Christ. That means your small act of obedience today might be the very thing someone else has been asking for. A word of encouragement to a coworker, a meal for a neighbor, a text to someone who feels forgotten, even a financial gift, or a ride to the doctor. You might think it's small, but to them it's huge, and to God, it's obedience.

00:02:31.431 --> 00:03:17.139
And let's be honest, sometimes we resist. We think, "I don't have enough to give." Or,"someone else will step in, but remember, the baker couldn't sleep or the milkman whose cart broke down. Neither planned to be a part of a miracle that morning, but both allowed God to use their circumstances to meet a need." Maybe you're that baker or milkman in someone else's story. Ask God today, "Lord, show me one way I can the answer to someone's prayer today. Then watch for an opportunity, a person to encourage, a need to meet, a burden to help carry.

00:03:11.881 --> 00:03:24.020
And then be ready to step in when God opens the door.""Father, thank you for the privilege of being part of your work in the lives of others.

00:03:24.020 --> 00:03:58.419
Open my eyes today to see the needs around me. Use my words, my time, my resources, my talents, to encourage and bless someone you love. In Jesus' name, Amen." Thanks for joining me today on Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. Remember, God may want to use you as the answer to someone else's prayer. Come back next time for more encouragement to help you live grounded in God's truth. Until then, God bless and have a great day.
