You’re showing up. You’re giving your best. But it feels like no one notices. No one says thank you. No one asks how you’re doing. And quietly, you’re wondering… Does anyone really see me?

Welcome to Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. I’m Bart Leger, and if you’ve been feeling invisible—like your efforts don’t matter and your presence doesn’t count—this is your reminder: God sees what others miss.

Genesis 16:13 tells us about a woman named Hagar. In her pain and isolation, she gave God this name:

You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” (NLT)

She wasn’t seen by the people around her—but she was seen by God.

Hagar wasn’t a main character. She wasn’t center stage. In fact, she was running away—pregnant, rejected, alone. But God found her.

He spoke to her, comforted her, and gave her hope. And in response, she gave Him a name no one had used before: El Roi—the God who sees me.

You may not feel significant in the eyes of others. You may be behind the scenes, in the margins, holding everything together while the spotlight shines elsewhere.

But you are fully seen by the One who matters most.

God doesn’t miss the late nights. The faithful prayers. The quiet sacrifices. He sees your tears. He hears your prayers. And He holds every moment of your story in His hands.

You’re not forgotten. You’re not invisible. You are deeply known—and deeply loved.

Today, say this truth aloud: “God sees me.” That’s it. Let it sink in. He sees your heart. He sees your hurt. He sees you.

God, thank You for being the One who sees me—especially when I feel overlooked. Help me rest in Your love and remember that I’m never hidden from You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
