When you can’t see what God is doing, it’s easy to assume He’s doing nothing. But today’s devotion reminds you that His plans are still good—even when they’re hidden.

Feel like you’re stuck in the unknown, just waiting for God to show you the next step?

You’re not alone. God’s people have been in that place before—and in Jeremiah 29:11, He spoke into their confusion with clarity, hope, and promise. That same God sees you today.

BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING, YOU’LL DISCOVER:

  • Why it’s okay not to have all the answers
  • How to trust that God is working behind the scenes
  • One powerful declaration to help anchor your heart when life feels unclear

Even when you don’t see a plan—God still has one.

You’ve been praying… and waiting. You’ve been trying to make the right decisions, but everything still feels unclear. You’re wondering, Is God even doing anything? Did He forget about me?

This is Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. I’m Bart Leger, and today’s devotion is for anyone who feels stuck in the fog—when you can’t see what’s ahead, but you still want to trust that God is leading.

Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most quoted verses in the Bible, but don’t let its familiarity dull its power. Listen to it like it’s the first time:

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” (NLT)

God doesn’t say you know the plan—He says He does.

Sometimes we confuse trust with clarity. We think, If I could just see what God’s doing, then I’d be okay.

But the truth is, faith is about moving forward before you have all the answers. It’s about believing that God sees the whole picture, even when you don’t.

Jeremiah 29:11 wasn’t spoken in easy times. God’s people were in exile—in confusion, dislocation, waiting. And in the middle of that, God said, “I know what I’m doing.”

That hasn’t changed.

You may not know how it all works out. You may not understand why God hasn’t answered yet. But you can trust this: He hasn’t abandoned you. He’s still writing your story.

And His plans? They’re good. Not always painless. But always filled with purpose.

Here’s a question to sit with: Can you trust God’s heart, even when you can’t see His hand?

Say this out loud: “God, You see what I can’t. I trust You with what’s next.”

Let’s pray:

Father, thank You that You have a plan, even when I don’t understand it. Help me trust that You’re working, even when I can’t see it. I put my future—and my right now—in Your hands. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
