You’ve been running on fumes—mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Your to-do list is longer than your energy supply. And maybe somewhere in the mix, you’ve started to feel like following Jesus is just one more thing you can’t quite keep up with.

Hey there, and welcome to Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. I’m Bart Leger, and for the next few minutes, we’re going to find rest—not just for your schedule, but for your soul.

Listen to the invitation Jesus gives in Matthew 11:28–30:

“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’” (NLT)

This isn’t a lecture. This is a lifeline.

If you’ve ever felt like life’s been one long race and you’re the only one without running shoes—this one’s for you.

Jesus doesn’t say, “Come to me when you’ve figured it out.”

He doesn’t say, “Come to me after you’ve cleaned up the mess.”

He says, “Come to me, you who are weary.

That’s you—if you’re tired of trying to do more, be more, fix more.

That’s you—if you’ve been following Jesus but somehow still feel spiritually tired, like your faith is just one more demand.

Jesus is not a taskmaster. He’s a shepherd. He’s not adding weight—He’s lifting it.

And when He says “Take my yoke,” He’s inviting us into a way of life that walks with Him, not for Him. He’s not just offering rest from work—He’s offering rest in the work. That’s the difference grace makes.

You weren’t created to hustle your way into worth. You were created to walk with the One who already sees you as worthy.

So here’s your invitation today: Come to Jesus, not with your strength, but with your weariness. He’s not waiting for you to power up—He’s ready to give you rest.

Let’s pray:

“Jesus, I’m tired. And I need You. Thank You for not expecting perfection from me. Teach me to walk with You, to find rest in You, and to receive the grace You freely give. Amen.”

Thanks for joining me today on Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. Remember—His grace is rest, not pressure. Come back tomorrow for more encouragement to help you live grounded in God’s truth.
