You’ve got a decision to make—and no clear direction. You’re waiting on a phone call, a test result, a closed door to open. Or maybe tomorrow just feels heavy with uncertainty. You’re doing all you can today, but tomorrow? Tomorrow feels like a giant question mark.

This is Daily Devotions for Busy Lives, and I’m Bart Leger. If tomorrow feels overwhelming, I want to give you something better than a plan—I want to give you a promise.

Let’s go to Proverbs 3:5–6:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (NLT)

That verse doesn’t promise clarity before obedience—but it does promise direction through trust.

If you’re like me, you like to have a plan. A timeline. A roadmap. But sometimes, God gives us just enough light for the step we’re on—and asks us to trust Him with the rest.

That’s not easy when you’ve got a lot riding on what’s next. But Proverbs 3 reminds us: you don’t have to lean on your understanding. You can lean on His wisdom, His timing, His faithfulness.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart”—not the leftover parts. Not just the spiritual stuff. But all of it. Your family. Your job. Your fears. Your future.

God’s not asking you to figure it all out—He’s asking you to walk with Him. To seek His will in the everyday decisions. To keep your heart open and your eyes on Him.

And as you do, He will direct your path. Maybe not instantly. Maybe not in the way you expect. But always in the way that’s best.

So today, take one thing that’s weighing on you about the future—and hand it to God. Out loud. With your whole heart. Trust is built one surrendered moment at a time.

God, You already see what I can’t. Help me stop leaning on my own understanding, and start leaning on You. I trust You with tomorrow—because You’ve never failed me yet. In Jesus' Name, Amen.”
