When no one notices your effort, God does. In this episode, discover the quiet power of serving faithfully in secret and the reward that only heaven can give.

Ever feel like what you’re doing doesn’t matter?

Like your faithfulness is hidden behind the scenes while others get the spotlight?

In this episode, we look at what Jesus said in Matthew 6:4, “Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” You’ll hear the true story of Sir Nicholas Winton, a man who quietly rescued hundreds of children from Nazi-occupied Europe, never seeking recognition. His story reminds us that the greatest acts of love are often the ones no one sees, except God.

Main Scriptures:

Matthew 6:4 – “Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Galatians 1:10 – “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God.”

You’ll learn:

  • Why unseen faithfulness matters in God’s kingdom
  • How to stay encouraged when no one thanks you
  • The difference between serving for recognition and serving for reward
  • A simple way to practice humility and quiet obedience this week

Today’s Challenge:

Do one good thing today, serve, give, or encourage someone, and tell no one. Make it an offering to God alone. Because when you serve without being seen, heaven takes notice.

He kept a secret for nearly 50 years. A young stockbroker in 1939, Nicholas Winton took vacation days, went to Prague, and started arranging trains to carry children out before the Nazis closed the borders. Paperwork, photos, foster home lists, and fundraising. It was quiet behind-the-scenes work that no one applauded. By summer's end, 669 kids reached safety in Britain. Then, the war came, and he packed the scrapbook away.

00:00:30.085 --> 00:00:35.405
Why wouldn't he tell anyone, not even his family, what he had done?

00:00:38.630 --> 00:02:13.812
Welcome to Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. I'm Bart Leger. You know, we live in a world that loves recognition. Our culture celebrates the spotlight, the shout-out, and the social media posts. But in Matthew 6-4, Jesus turns that on its head. What God is doing in secret will reward you. When you do good that no one notices, I'm here to tell you, Heaven does. And that's what really matters. Because God's economy doesn't run on applause like it does in our lives. It runs on obedience. It wasn't until 1988 when his wife, all of the children, found a scrapbook from 1939 with all the children's photos and a complete list of names of those rescued that Wynton's rescue efforts became known. It kept silent for years, but the work had been real. God had seen every form signed, every train arranged, and most importantly, every child that was welcomed. And serve faithfully, even when no one's clapping. Because heaven keeps the record. Can I be honest? It's easy to wonder if what you're doing matters when nobody thanks you. You show up early, you stay late, you give quietly, you pray faithfully, and it feels like it goes unnoticed. But God sees every act of love. But God sees every act of love. He hears every prayer that we whisper. And every sacrifice that's made in secret, He knows. Because He's the audience that matters most.

00:02:14.312 --> 00:03:13.551
And unlike human applause, His approval doesn't fade. Galatians 1, verse 10 says, If our goal is to serve Him, we don't need a platform. We just need to be faithful. Nicholas Winton didn't set out to be a hero. He just did what was right, and God used it to save hundreds of lives. Heaven noticed long before the world did. Here's today's challenge. Do one thing for someone today. Something kind, or it could be something generous. And then, don't tell anyone about it. You don't have to. Let it be between you and God. Because when you serve without being seen, you are never unseen by Him. Father, thank You that You see what others don't. When we feel unnoticed, remind us that You're watching and rewarding faithfulness done in secret.

00:03:13.842 --> 00:03:20.081
Help us serve humbly. joyfully and quietly for Your glory alone.

00:03:20.562 --> 00:03:29.002
In Jesus' name, amen. Thanks for joining me today on Daily Devotions for Busy Lives.
