When you’ve hit your limit, God hasn’t. In this episode, discover how His grace meets you in weakness, fills what’s empty, and overflows through your life to others.

Ever feel like you’ve got nothing left to give, no energy, no patience, no strength?

The good news is, God never asks you to run on empty. His grace is more than a momentary rescue; it’s a continual supply that meets you right where you are and keeps flowing when yours runs out.

In today’s devotion, you’ll hear the story of a small church that helped erase over $21 million in medical debt for thousands of families. What began as a local act of mercy became a living picture of God’s unending grace—setting people free from debts they could never repay.

Main Scripture:

James 4:6 – “And He gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’”

Supporting Scripture:

2 Corinthians 9:8 – “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”

By the end of this episode, you’ll discover:

  • Why God’s grace meets you exactly where you’re weak
  • How humility opens the door for God’s provision
  • What it looks like to live as a conduit of grace for others

Today’s Challenge:

Ask yourself, “Where do I need God’s grace the most right now?”

Bring that area to Him in prayer: “Lord, I’ve reached my limit, but You haven’t. Give me grace for this moment—and help me extend it to others.”

Then look for one small way to show grace this week—help, forgive, or encourage someone who needs it.

00:00:00.958 --> 00:00:28.318
It was a Sunday service with a different kind of altar call. Up front sat a metal container and a printed list, rows of account numbers representing real neighbors' medical bills. The pastor explained what would happen next, a symbolic debt burning to mark what God had already done through the church's Debt Jubilee Project. Could a small congregation really erase mountains of debt? And how in the world did this start?

00:00:30.911 --> 00:00:52.838
Welcome to Daily Devotions for Busy Lives. I'm Bart Leger. If you've ever felt like you've run out of strength or patience or hope, then this episode is for you. Because here's the good news. When your supply runs dry, God's grace doesn't. Grace isn't just a one-time pardon for sin.

00:00:48.917 --> 00:01:06.558
It's ongoing strength for every need. It's forgiveness, it's provision, and it's favor that keeps flowing long after you've reached your limit. Here's the story behind that Debt Jubilee.

00:01:01.898 --> 00:01:38.412
Trinity Moravian Church in Winston-Salem started partnering with a non-profit that uses offerings from partnering churches to buy unpayable medical debt in bulk for pennies on the dollar and then forgives it. Campaign by campaign the total snowballed. And by early 2025 their pastor reported that about $21 million in medical debt had been erased for over 15,000 North Carolinians. That's not just financial relief. It's a living picture of grace.

00:01:41.909 --> 00:01:47.400
That's what God does for us.

00:01:52.439 --> 00:01:56.530
James chapter 4, verse 6 says, And he gives grace generously.

00:01:57.640 --> 00:02:14.789
As the scriptures say, God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. And 2 Corinthians 9, 8 says, And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

00:02:15.185 --> 00:02:24.514
Grace means God doesn't just forgive. He provides. He fills empty hands and weary hearts.

00:02:20.574 --> 00:03:15.655
And here's the thing. You can't outspend God's grace. You can't overdraw the account. Because the more you need, the more he gives. That's why humility matters so much. Grace flows toward the humble, not the self-sufficient. The proud say, I've got this. The humble say, Lord, I need you. And heaven answers, I got you. The church in Winston-Salem didn't wait for millions of dollars. They simply offered what they had. And grace multiplied. And when you and I do the same, when we admit our need, forgive someone else, and help when we can, grace shows up again and again. What if more churches decided to do the same thing for their communities? You don't have to fix everything.

00:03:11.995 --> 00:03:15.655
You just have to open your hands.

00:03:16.215 --> 00:03:29.655
So today, ask yourself, where do I need God's grace the most right now? Just name it. Then pray, Lord, I've reached my limit. But I know you haven't.

00:03:25.634 --> 00:03:29.655
Give me grace for this moment.

00:03:30.085 --> 00:03:35.335
And help me extend it to others.

00:03:30.085 --> 00:03:48.632
And if you can, look for a small way to show grace. Help a neighbor. Forgive a debt. Or encourage someone who's struggling. Grace grows when you give it away. Heavenly Father, thank you for your endless grace.

00:03:48.942 --> 00:04:03.412
When I run out of strength or patience, remind me that your supply never runs dry. Help me receive your grace with humility, then share it freely with others.

00:03:56.352 --> 00:04:06.481
In Jesus' name, amen. Thanks for joining me today on Daily Devotions for Busy Lives.

00:04:07.092 --> 00:04:11.271
Remember, when your supply runs out, God's grace never does.

00:04:11.972 --> 00:04:20.442
Come back next time for more encouragement to help you live grounded in God's truth. Until then, God bless, and have a great day.
